I will be back soon!

Hey guys! Just a short post to tell you there are big things coming our way very very soon. Although we can’t share them with you just yet, after the holiday season is over, we will fill you all in.

In the meantime, I will be taking some time off from blogging to spend some quality time with my amazing husband who actually gets some time off from work. I will be back to it in the new year, but wanted to wish you all a happy, healthy and safe holiday season!

See you next year!

Fashion Feature: Holiday Sparkle

Hi guys! This winter, I’m becoming obsessed with anything sparkle. Maybe it’s because it reminds me of the snow in the sun, but I cannot get enough! Check out some of my fave pieces and share your favorites!

BodyRock week 1 update!

Hey guys! A quick post before I turn in for the evening (or watch some holiday movies under a blanket with my cute hubby 🙂 )

This week has been awesome in terms of my workouts. If you haven’t gone over to BodyRock yet, you are missing out! I have started the 30 day challenge, and while it is kicking my butt, I’m already feeling the results!

My abs aren’t a washboard or anything yet, but I can already feel my energy levels increasing and my general attitude being more positive. It feels great!

45 minutes a day in the comfort or my home jumping around like a maniac has been so much fun!

Go try it now!!!!

Pinterest Post: Holiday Cocktails

🎶 It’s the holiday season, with a whoop-de-do and hickory dock, and don’t forget to hang up your sock…🎶

Am I the only one who has had the Pandora Christmas station blasting all week?! I don’t know if it’s because J and I will be apart from family this year on Christmas ( 😦 ), or what, but I cannot get enough holiday music it seems!

In the spirit of the holiday season (ha! See what I did there? spirit….) I have compiled a list of my favorite pinned holiday drinks! I will post the recipes to my top three below. Other drink ideas can be found on my Cocktails Board on Pinterest!

Number 3: Candy Cane Martini

Leave it to Martha Stewart to create such a cocktail! In a shaker, combine 2 ounces strawberry vodka, 4 dashes white Creme de Menthe, and 2&1/2 ounces of cranberry juice. Shake well. Garnish a glass with crushed candy canes, pour, and enjoy!

Number 2: Boozy Eggnog

In a cocktail shaker, combine 4 ounces of eggnog, 1 ounce spiced rum, 1 ounce Kahlua, 1/2 ounce of bourbon, and a splash of vanilla extract. Sprinkle in a dash of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove and turn slowly in shaker to combine. Rim a glass with turbinado sugar (optional) and pour in eggnog mixture. Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon and you’re ready to party!

And my Number 1 Holiday Cocktail is: Cranberry Champagne!

In a champagne glass, pour one ounce of sweetened cranberry juice and top with the juice of a slice of lime. Top with champagne (I love Martini & Rossi Asti!) and a few fresh cranberries and you’re all set for a festive celebration!

Making Treasure from Trash (and other household hacks)

One thing most of you guys know about me is that I love decorating my home. Hopefully soon, we will have a home that we own to decorate as well (yay for no more renting in the future!)

Another thing you may know about me is that I hate spending more money than I have to on home decor. Just check out our curtain fiasco in my previous Around the House post here

So I have vowed to take thrift store finds or other inexpensive home decor and make it into the best declarations ever! Here’s what I mean:

IKEA hacks

Ikeahackers is a great resource for DIY projects from items that can be bought from IKEA and upgraded to look more unique and expensive.

Thrift Store Treasures

Not only are thrift stores like Goodwill, AMVETS, and The Salvation Army great causes to donate your gently used and unwanted items, but they are usually a great place to find one of a kind and vintage pieces that are great on their own or spruced up to become something new! I found a great set of three pillar candle stands at Goodwill for $10 for the set! Super Steal!

The blog Pennies and Blessings (photo credit) also has a great list of things to look for!

Flea Market Finds

See my post all about my best friend’s amazing Flea Market Finds here!

Saturday Happenings

Hi guys! It’s the last day of November, can you believe it?! Here’s what’s been going on in our lives today…

Watching the Buckeyes beat M*ch*g@n ( it’s a swear word in our home, so we bleep out a few letters…)

I painted my nails for the occasion. It turned out to be a nail biter, though, so now they don’t look as pristine 🙂

I spammed my sisters inbox with photos of my dogs until she finally Facetimed us 🙂

As you can see, Atlas gave her the cold shoulder towards the end since she wasn’t replying…it sounds lame, but try it some time. Add in funny captions with each picture and send them about a minute apart until the person you’re trying to contact calls you back.

I also got this adorable picture of Atlas and Rhea together. We go back to the vet on Tuesday to get her biopsy results! Keep your fingers crossed for us that they figured out why she’s so itchy!

So yea, all in all, we spent our last day of November 2013 watching football and relaxing. What did you do this weekend that was fun?
